About the exhibition:
To speak of Octopussies is to insist on plurality: plural bodies, plural pleasures, plural feminisms. It is an

embrace of the slippery, the sensuous, and the uncontainable.

The octopus must constantly adapt to its surroundings. It camouflages itself to evade predators, much like women often have to.

Tentacles, tubes, pipes, and interlocking limbs suggest the possibility of living—and thinking—otherwise. These many-armed bodies, stretching to juggle countless responsibilities, become symbols of diversity and resistance.

In this exhibition we feature the work of four female artists — Eva Garland, Yuki Ando, Katherine Sultan, and Xabel Rude — whose practices approach femininity, identity, and transformation through distinct visual languages and materials.

Within Octopussies, bodies are imagined not as static objects but as living systems—capable of sensing, adapting, and transforming the worlds they inhabit. Like the octopus itself, these forms remain fluid and responsive, navigating environments that demand constant reinvention.
